Another Time, Another Place
A poem about two people in love, decades apart in age.
Had I met you
in another time, another place,
I would hold your hand
to a most lovely place.
A place where we are together
sunrise to sunset,
then past midnight
where in the shadows we kiss.
A place where we hold hands
by the beach in the sand.
I, closer to youth -
You, a bit more advanced.
Nevertheless,
let’s be together
within the realm of our dreams.
Souls entwined, abiding unseen.
Where no one can touch us,
we are safe from their stare.
Where no one can criticize,
mock, or compare.
Let’s be friends forever,
lovers if we dare…
eternally together,
eternally a pair.
A fun little poem about lovers who are decades apart in age. It used to be looked upon as scandalous, but today it seems to be a trend. The woman in most cases is older and the man is much younger. I say we stay open to the possibility. Life is full of surprises! Lots of love, Laney
